SeaWave&Rydex SMSCrewMail is a prepaid service providingseafarers with a cost effective communication channel to friends and relatives through SMS or email. SMSCrewMail operates with any vessel communication medium and transports e-mail and SMS to and from the boat ship without interfering with the vessel's official business. SMSCrewMail simplifies crew messaging administration without additional investments in time, effort or equipment. As a prepaid service, SMSCrewMail eliminates the hassles of monthlyinvoicing and surcharges. To access SMSCrewMail, each seafarer is assigned a private and secure SMSCrewMail account through the SMSCrewMail Prepaid Registration Card. ARegistration Card contains a Login number and a unique password which allows the seafarer access to the system. The SMSCrewMail Registration Card is pre-loaded with a designatednumber of credit units with which the seafarer can use the system. An SMS message of 160 characters or email message of 460 characters is counted as one message and is worth one credit. Only sending is charged; receiving messages is free. When the initial credits are expended, the seafarer may reloadusing an SMSCrewMail Prepaid Reload card. Reload cards are available to the seafarer onboard the vessel, through the crewing agents, and through SeaWave&Rydex. Reload strings can also be used in lieu of physical cards. Reload strings are emailed to the user and contain the reload number needed to add credits. Easy to Use Upon registration to SMSCrewMail, a unique login number is assigned to the user, which when recharged will allow them to send and receive either email or SMS messages on board the vessel.
