Automatic File Exchange
Comprehensive Remote Data Management for Your Fleet
SeaWave SAFE - Easy-to-Use, Time Saving Tools Designed to Save You Money
Manage and Control Your Fleet - REMOTELY. All From the Shore Office!
and the target folder on shore (or vice versa). Tasks can be launched prior to dispatching files from the source site and after delivery of the files at the target site. At the target site, each file name can be automatically passed within command line arguments to the defined task and, if appropriate, an output file from the task can be inspected for key phrases, causing SAFE to raise alerts via e-mail. Archiving options at the source and target site allow for easy replaying of the file transfer and reaction of the third party systems when files arrive.
About SeaWave SAFE
SeaWave SAFE (SeaWave Automatic File Exchange) enables shore-side administrators to perform and control maintenance and administrative tasks on remote vessels from the home office. A simple yet powerful remote ship management package, SAFE has been designed to operate in any e-mail environment via MAPI,
SMTP/POP3
or SMTP/IMAP4.
SeaWave
SAFE manages immediate and/or scheduled tasks
(e.g. weekly planned
maintenance
system

export) and automatic bi-directional file transfer between ship and shore. Export type tasks can be launched prior to file dispatch and, at the destination, import type tasks can be launched immediately after file delivery.

All task output can be monitored for exceptions and reported automatically to shore-based Administrators. SeaWave SAFE is also available with the SABR option, which allows the synchronization of a shore-based mail server's global address list to all vessels using

File Transfer jobs can also be configured to send files as attachments to regular e-mail messages. "One-off" jobs can be created to collect files from ships and have them returned within

An example of SeaWave SAFE'S use is to remotely place a file in a specified folder on a ship and then remotely launch a third party 'import' application to process it. After this application performs its task, a resulting file could be sent to shore indicating the success or details of the procedure.
Features and Benefits
File Transfer
File Transfer jobs allow you to specify the source folder on the ship
intervention.
File Save
Using File Save, you define a filter to identify incoming e-mail messages by sender and/or subject. When an e-mail message arrives that meets the criteria of the File Save filter a job specification is triggered. Within the job specification a target folder is designated and, optionally, a task can be launched to process the file.
