Mikron Series - The Mikron series meets the needs of today's diving. It's perfectly adapted to dive travel. It's a small, light and ergonomic regulator. It's perfectly suited to women, to men and to children - meet the Mikron on page 8.
• The Legend series - The Legend series is our high end range which boosts the most features and benefits. The Legend 1st stage is a Diaphragm design which utilizes a proprietary overbalanced first stage to achieve unpreceden­ted performance for the most demanding divers. The Legend 1st stage is available with either the adjustable or nonadjustable second stage. The Legend series has ACD system (Auto Closure Device).
• The Kronos series - The new Aqua Lung KRONOS is the first regulator to offer divers a combined adjuster for the injection and the ope­ning resistance along with a lateral bubble deflector. This regulator with its distinctive look is already attracting a lot of attention. See detailed presentation on page 12.
• The Titan series - The Titan 1st stage is the most popular and is the workhorse of the fleet. Coupled with the LX second stage the Titan LX performance rivals our highest end regulators while maintaining a very attractive price.The Titan is an in-line balanced diaphragm mecha­nism that is very compact and easy to use.
• Calypso series - The Calypso first stage is our new simple piston regulator, it is built up from the famous Calypso series.The new compo­nents are compatible with the previous Calypso series.The new internal shapes allowed us some very high breathing performances. It is possible to use it in cold water diving (CE approval).
• Extreme Series - The Extreme series regula­tor are regulators specially designed for extre­me conditions. These regulators are extremely resistant to freezing conditions. They have been tested over the EN 250 standard conditions as under ice diving.
All Aqua Lung regulators are objectively tested and their gas delivery performance is evaluated using an ANSTI breathing simulator machine. This simulator quantifies inhalation and exhalation effort while sub­jecting the regulator to variations in depth, supply pressure and water temperatures. The results of these tests, which study exhalation and inhalation effort, are computer analyzed to produce an ove­rall "work of breathing"(W0B) rating. The WOB results are typically plotted as "WOB Curves" as seen below.

Cold water diving requires special training and also requires spe­cialized equipment designed to resist "Freeze-Up". Most Aqua Lung regulators are available in a "Supreme" version that is adjusted and designed to perform specifically under cold water conditions.These adaptations include :

that keeps water away from the exposed main spring on the first stage thereby reducing the likelihood of freezing on cold water dives. This feature, which comes standard on cold water models, may be added to other models for divers in harsh environments that have the need to keep silt or pollution out of the main spring chamber.
Nitrox compatibility
(Enriched Air Nitrox EAN)
In EEC countries, the Nitrox/O2 diving is ruled by the EN 144-3 standard -Respiratory protective devices - Gas cylin­der valve - Part 3:Outlet Nitrox connections and EN 13949 standard - Respiratory equipment - Open-circuit self contained diving apparatus for use with compressed nitrox and oxygen - Requirements, testing, marking.The maximum depth depends on the percentage of oxygen used in the mixtu­re.
• Aqua Lung offers a separate line of regu­lators which are designed and manufactured specifically for dedicated use with enriched air above 40% and up to 100% of oxygen.This range meets the requirements of the EN 144-3 and the EN 13949 and has successfully passed the adiabatic compres­sion tests. It has consequently been awarded the CE type certificate.
• These regulators with specific connections should be used only with suitable comple­mentary equipment (cylinder valves, cylin­ders, pressure gauges, etc) designed and pre­pared for use with oxygen enriched gas or oxygen.
• Nitrox/O2 regulator is built to a high stan­dard of cleanliness using EAN/oxygen com­patible components and lubricants.
• The breathing air used for the mixture should be oxygen-compatible or "hyperfilte-red" whereas the condensed hydrocarbons do not exceed 0.1 mg/m3.
All Aqua Lung regulators meet or exceed the rigorous standards required of regulators sold internationally and particularly in European countries. The rigorous European standard ("CE") requires that the WOB does not exceed
3 joules/liter at 165 feet. All Aqua Lung regulators have received the CE approval rating.Throughout these pages, you will see examples of breathing curves exhibiting the overall WOB for the various models. When you purchase an Aqua Lung regulator, you are buying it with confidence because of the comprehensive test program to which these regulator designs are subjected.
Heat Exchangers (Fig. 3)
on the second stage help the regulator to resist freezing while diving in colder waters.The heat exchanger conducts the temperature of the sur­rounding water to the valve inside the regulator, virtually eliminating second stage freezing.
Comfo-Bite® Mouthpiece with Lip Shield (Fig. 4)
The patented Comfo-Bite mouthpiece with the addition of a lip shield helps protect the diver's lips from extreme cold.
Characteristics for the extreme conditions
The pressure reducers GLACIA and MISTRAL, on pages 18 and 19, are pressure reducers especially designed for the practice of the diving in extreme conditions such as the diving under ice.
Glacia
This regulator includes 3 levels of heat exchangers: the first stage, the hose and the second stage. These patended systems aid cold extraction and increased the freezing resistance.
Mistral
It is the only 2 stages regulator with a total protection. The mechanisms are protected from the environment.The moving parts are not in contact with the water.
