Vareo - 1

Single-handed performance fun for all The stable hull, responsive rig and easy handling systems make the Vareo an attainable challenge, while two mainsail size options allow the relative novice to cut their teeth and expand the boat in line with growing experience. Hassle-free sailing The spinnaker powered single-hander that brings exciting performance within reach of just about all sailors - It even has space for an occasional crew! The Vareo’s mast has a track and halyard for the mainsail, so the mast can stay rigged in the boat park, and you don’t have to precariously step the mast in a breeze with sail attached! The sail can also be hoisted / dropped on the water, which with the pivoting rudder, makes launching and recovery both safer and easier. The self draining cockpit allows a quick recovery from capsize and righting lines assist with righting. Versatile performer This single-hander is great for families: A race boat for Dad while the cockpit is spacious and allows for an occasional crew with a spinnaker to get them involved! There is a choice of sails, enabling all weights and abilities to enjoy the fun. Choose from the standard fully battened Mylar main which brings amazing performance, or the semi-battened Storm sail for control in higher winds. The Storm sail also has reefing points so that less experienced / lighter crews can enjoy high wind sailing. The asymmetric turns the Vareo into a fantastic single-hander with exceptional downwind speed. The easy, one-line hoist / drop system with a huge spinnaker chute ensures quick hoists and drops - With no forestay to slow up the sail, gybes are easy too. Long lasting durability The RS Vareo is a real thoroughbred, with RS quality throughout. The hull is built using strong GRP composite construction for real durability, stiffness and a long competitive life. The foils are highly durable anodised aluminium and the mast has an alloy lower section and a light composite tip giving the best strength with better handling.

Vareo - 2

From club racing to the Racing Circuit, the RS Vareo brings asymmetric spinnaker powered single-handed sailing into the mainstream. Manageable handling and exciting sailing make this boat a winner. When I swapped from windsurfing to sailing, I nearly bought a Laser, nothing wrong with them, but in my view not a patch on the Vareo. The boat is so versatile, has lots to keep your interest and goes like stink in a blow with or without the kite. Long may it reign. Ken Bolland I have sailed loads of different boats over many years including 505s RS400s Laser etc but have to say I can’t remember...
