TRIESTE They're made in various types with features right to everyship making use of these materials:the propeller shaft is made with stainless steel AISI 316 - AISI 630 accurately worked and with bearing grinded surfaces. The stern tube is formed by components made from brass of high resistance mechanical and to corrosion connected between them by threaded couplings (then decomposa- ble).The bushes of the shaft are covered with rubber and lubricated by water's circulation through the stern tube;on request moreover we can supply bushes of phenolik fibroid or with covering of white-metal lubricated by grease.The sealing on the propeller shaft is given by a set of annular rings made with specials intertwisted fibres and imbued with grease (self-lubricatings) contained in adjustable stuf- fing-box.The bolts are made with stainless steel AISI 304 and the keys are made with stainless steel AISI 316.
