Handling of the emergen -cy manual drive at the hydraulic edition
(Fig.5 and Fig.6)
If a defect of the pump system af-
fects a normal hydraulic opera-
tion of the furler impossible,
sails
can be furled manually by hand.
Manual handling requires a stan-
dard
winch handle inserted into
the winch socket, which is located
at the side of the hydraulic gear
box. Insert the handle completely
into the socket, it has to be locked
in place, otherwise the hydraulic
drive is not separated from the
gear. If problems avise when in-
serting the handle into the socket,
try to turn the handle while in-
serting to allow easier coupling of
the parts.
We would like to point out that
there is no power transmitted to
the handle, due to the special
gear construction. It is possible to
let go of the handle in any posi-
tion without recoil. Please note!
Make sure that the winch handle
is always completely connected
with the socket during the manu-
al operation.
The emergency manual drive is
automatically switched off by
pulling the handle out of the
winch socket.
Salt deposits inside the winch
socket may affect operation of
the spring plunger after removing
the winch handle. The spring
plunger is fitted with an M6 fe-
male thread to enable simple re-
moval if necessary. >
