| Heat Distortion'sTemperature is the maximum temperature when producing sandwich and using pre-pegs could support the foam in a short range of time (maximum 2 hrs). Thermoplastic materials have a Heat Distortion's Temperature around 100°C, that means less core's resistance with temperature increasing. Higher Distortion's temperature better core's resistance. • Struct Core could be an alternative for plywood?: Of course. Plywood have the fibres in two directions (0 and 90°) but is not a sandwich. In order to change one production of vessels made of plywood to sandwich construction is necessary to recalculate again all resistances, because we could reach same performances using less density. That means lighter vessels for same strong. • How different are the surface temperatures of a white and a black painted surface?: A white paint will reduce the surface temperature by up to 20°C. Furthermore, white panels react more slowly to intensity changes than black panels, which also reduce the temperature rise in the foam core material. When white surfaces changes and lay not direct under the sun, the surface temperature will drop immediately. Mechanical properties of foam core material will decrease with increasing temperatures. To avoid that, is interesting to use a core material with high working temperatures range, like STRUCT CORE. • Cores for wind blade manufacturers: Use of STRUCT CORE will help wind blade fabricators to make longer, lighter and stiffer blades. That means superior performance in blade deflection and wind resistance. It achieves life increasing for lighter blades, the end result is lower cost energy. • Epoxy Pre-pregs: in the blade production, manufacturers normally uses Epoxy pre-pregs • Changing mentality from metal design to composite: Using composites we solve corrosion problems, reduce the production process or increase product's performance and service life. Lighter crafts consume less energy and spare costs. STRUCT CORE provides excellent internal pressure during the closed-mould curing process, good fatigue behaviour and excellent creep compression. • F0 materials: approve a material under F0 means it has the lowest smoke's toxicity. Actually just inorganic materials could reach this approval like: silicates, glass wool,.. |
