Pelican International is a world leader in the design and manufacture of kayaks, canoes, pedal sports boats and fishing boats. A full team, including engineers and industrial designers, is active in crafting and manufacturing boats that meet the quality, comfort, safety and performance demanded by paddlers of all levels.Over the last 40 years, the technical teams at Pelican have perfected the art of thermoforming to reach a level of expertise that leads the industry. QUALITY CONTROL The quality control system applied to boats manufactured by Pelican is inspired by leading international standards, and the quantity of rejects is among the lowest in the industry. Pelican has mastered the innovative manufacturing technique of Twin Sheet Thermoforming (TST), which fuses the decks and hulls of boats, resulting in a mono-hull finish. Pelican’s new plant is equipped with cutting-edge equipment, bringing TST to an unparalleled level of excellence in the industry. PELICAN, AN ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE COMPANY Unused plastic material is recycled Pelican extrudes the RAM-X
TM sheets used in the manufacture of its boats. This enables it to recycle more than 99% of the unused plastic material while ensuring optimal quality control. Also 50% of the boats that Pelican manufactures use ‘‘post industrial recycled plastic’’.
RAM-X TM is a multi-layer material exclusive to Pelican. It is known for its high impact-resistance, its ability to regain its initial shape after violent impacts and its UV-protected exterior finish. RAM-X TM has become the benchmark of quality in the industry. Using heat from the ovens Air ducts have been specially designed to evacuate the heat released by the ovens during the molding process and redirect it to the warehouse, heating it during winter.
