| | | The electrons do the job ► The cooling device is a water cooled thermoelectric heat pump based on the Peltier principal. The copper braid is connected to the cooling box, and the copper plate is mounted on the outside of the hull below the waterline, where it is chilled by the seawater. When electric current passes through the electronic heat pump, between the copper braid and the plate, heat is transported away from the cooling box through the braid and out into the sea, by electrons. The cooling unit is absolutely silent and so efficient that you can reduce the temperature in OZcooler 18 down to 30°C (88°F) below seawater temperature. OZcooler is a Swedish patent protected invention. | | |
