Project planning Site analysis

Useful in presenting your planned marina. The marina is plotted on a drawing in which the space is used optimally. The marina can then be illustrated in an easy to comprehend, realistic manner in 3D on an image or directly onto an official digital map. This simplifies considerably the public planning process with respect to both decision-makers and neighbours. Few marinas are currently subjected to a qualified site evaluation. Carrying out such an analysis provides additional safety considerations when trying to determine the conditions for which the marina should be designed. The analysis provides guidelines regarding the effective stroke length (see definition on page 18), which, in turn, provides a basis for determining wave height and wave frequency in the area. These, in turn, provide the design criteria for the marina.The analysis is based on third parties wind and wave reports, maps, seabed maps and local observations. The analysis method is highly recognised, and the same as used by the Norwegian Foundation for Scientific and Industrial Research, SINTEF.
