Americas Cup syndicate BMW Oracle
Racing, OYS has now supplied a further
two sets of bespoke standing
rigging for
Rig 6 in September 2004 and more
recently Rig 7 in March 2005. The rigging
will be stepped onto
USA-76 in competition First PBO Order Decision 35 Race Fleet New Employees
In December 2004, OYS was awarded itsfirst PBO Standing Rigging contract, byDecision SA, Switzerland, to supply a fleet
of 8 custom one design Decision 35 racingCatarmarans. Delivery was made toSwitzerland in March 2005 for the fleetwhich comprises: OYS are pleased to announce theappointment of Mike “ Jaffa ” Orange as thecompany’s new Chief Designer. Mike willbe responsible for the development of newproducts for both rigging and hydraulic
applications. He will also manage the OYSdrawing office and be responsible for theprovision of engineering and technical datato all live projects. “ Jaffa ” as he prefers tobe known has extensive compositeexperience and has undertaken majordesign work on projects such as

Having destroyed the round the world recordset by Francis Joyon and rightly receiving allthe plaudits and congratulations, Ellen
MacArthur returned home to share in acelebration dinner with her Sailing Team andkey partners, including Ocean Yacht
Systems. Due to the media frenzy in the days
following her record breaking success of 71Days 14 Hours 18 Minutes and 17 Seconds,the details of the dinner were kept secret until
the very last minute, when guests werecollected from the marine dock by Ellen’s team. MikeOrange, Chief Designer of OYS attended the
dinner and along with all the other partnerswas made a presentation for contribution tothe success of the team’s recent campaign.

The other key appointment is BenPorteous, as one of the company’s newProject Managers. Ben’s primary functionis to liase directly with customers and their
project managers on all technical aspects,project specifications and general progressof their projects. Internally, he will beresponsible for controlling the projectsprogress and quality from point of order
until final delivery. Ben formerly managedthe production build of RNLI

OYS PBO rigged Decision 35 Boat catamaran OYS are pleased to announce theappointment of a new Service Agent andDistributor - Nance & Underwood Sails andRigging, who are based in Fort Lauderdale,
USA. Nance and Underwood will handle alltrade sales in the South East U.S.A,Caribbean and South American markets.
They will also be responsible for heading upsales to a number of OEM Customers in theUSA. New French Agent
OYS have appointed Vincent Le Roux of
Blew Stoub as their new French SalesAgent. Vincent who is based in Lorient, will
provide a local outlet for kevlar, PBO, rodrigging and hydraulics. He will also providea local contact for OYS’s growing OEMproduction boat business in France.
