WONDERING IF YOUR TRAWL IS ON BOTTOM? THE NOTUS BOTTOM CONTACT SENSOR GIVES THE ANSWER. Why bottom contact? A SINGLE SYSTEM WILL: • When bottom trawling, catch is greatly reduced when the footgear comes off bottom. This sensor will indicate when bottom contact is lost. • Instantly see if you are going too fast into the current and lifting the trawl off bottom. • For scientific studies, bottom contact information is essential in swept area calculations. How it works. • The sensor uses an inclinometer to give the angle of the sensor. • When on bottom, the sensor is horizontal. For example, it will provide an angle of 90 degrees. • When off bottom, the sensor is more vertical. For example, it will provide an angle of 5 degrees. Installation • The bottom contact sensor is attached to the combination wire behind the footgear. • A rugged stainless steel housing is provided for attachment and protection. GEAR LOCATION
