Introduction

The ATOA Expedition yacht is originated from Morozov Sailboat yachts concept and intended for long range unlimited cruising by small crew or family couple. The concept is based on own professional marine experience of Alexander Morozov and accumulated the knowledge of earlier built yachts for heavy sea conditions. The design and scantling was made by Gabriel Heyman from Sweden, who is famous with his well balanced cruising yachts as Fantasy-44 series, and seamanlike Scandinavian approach in designing and building of solid yachts. ATOA Expedition is built at Dutch Yachts Builders B.V. boatyard in Enkhuizen in Netherlands, they are the builders of well known Zaka and Puffin series from Olivier van Meer. The materials and marine equipment were chosen from well known or professional suppliers. The combination of the best from this world, made possible to build the sound yacht.

Concept

ATOA means in full wording - "Arctic TO Antarctic unlimited cruising" and it is solo guide line for design and building of this yacht. Today the choice of solid cruising yachts is not very wide, it is split between very expensive brands of super yachts, sporty Opens and "optimized" for market production boats suppliers. But it is not easy task to find the proper yacht, when your plans extend far then next marina in weekend sailing. The production builders are in dangerous race of cheap and simple boats. Even the sports boat builders which were known for their sound cruising yachts are moving on this way of simplicity of the construction and interior design. From other point of view, the modern communication ability and overcrowded marinas are pushing the cruisers to new far destination, where the word "seaworthiness" stay on the first place. When you want to find the sound cruising yacht, you looking for near classic sport boats from 80th, but they are already more then 25 years, good age even for plastic lady. The other way is custom metal yacht, which takes a lot of time and money, but result will be super and fit exactly to your needs and nothing more - right boat for good man. The size of ATOA is 20 meters length, about maximum to handle in sea by crew of couple. With modern deck hardware, you do not need paid crew to sail her worldwide. She is private yacht for owners use, but big enough to live comfortable aboard or invite your children or friends for some weeks or passage. Herewith we offer the existed sound yacht ATOA Expedition (2008). We spent about 3 years to accumulate information, design boat, find the best equipment and materials and build this seldom yacht.
