America’s Best Built 40 Footer Fast, Dry, Quiet, Efficient & Comfortable

A Design That’s Right for the Times Comments made during January 2009 sea trials in Boston
This boat exceeds my expectations by a factor of 10! 75dbA at 25 knots is very quiet. It allows you to whisper and be heard. That’s 10 dbA less than the 34z, which is a quiet boat! Hitting a top speed of 39.7 knots with twin 370s, doing turns in 25 knots of wind… and the stern seat is still dry! This IPS drive control is simply amazing… easier to drive and maneuver than the 29z. Two finger docking, perfect on the first try! This interior is so light and airy, it hardly seems one is belowdecks. The wide companionway with 3 normal steps gives the impression that all the living and cockpit space is on one level. Sightlines and visibility are exceptionally good. Look, there are now 8 people having their picnic lunch in the pilothouse in 70-degree warmth when it’s 25 degrees outside. Why don’t people go boating in the wintertime? It’s beautiful out here! We’ll spend more time together having fun by owning this boat in Florida as our winter escape than if we buy a condo and are stuck in the same place all the time… each pursuing different interests. Besides if we get tired of one place, we can visit friends elsewhere. Those side doors sure make boarding the boat from slippery floats easy -- or when stepping off to secure docklines when landing. “I feel as comfortable as being on an ocean liner” 40z Downeast and Express Models Two 40z styles are offered: “Downeast” and “Express”. Only the side window treatment differentiates the two. The Downeast model (above) has a larger side opening for more fresh air ventilation, easier boat-to-boat greetings and convenient single-handed docking. Without leaving the helm, one can lean out to secure a midships dockline or pick up a mooring, lobsterman style. The Express model has more hard glass enclosure if one wants to only partially open the sides in rough conditions.
