FREEDOM CLASS When delivered, the Freedom class cruise ships were the world’s largest and most innovative floating cities. The two first sisters of the class, Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas, the 3,600-guest ships (double occupancy) sail yearround, seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami. The third of the sisters, Independence of the Seas, delivered from the Turku shipyard in spring 2008, is sailing in the Mediterranean from her homeport in Southampton. 7

HIP ON Europa 2, ordered by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises in 2011, illustrates STX Europe’s capability in design and building of medium-sized units, meeting the quality requirements of a fivestar ship.
