Special Pontoons left page )Heavy Duty Villa Pontoon, Finland ( right ) > Marinetek produces a range of special pontoons and fl oating structures for a wide variety of purposes. Examples of use include rowing pontoons, fuel pontoons, working boat platforms, fl oating restaurant terraces, pilot vessels and various industrial applications. MOST OF THE special pontoon designs are based on Marinetek’s standard plastic or concrete fl oat constructions. However, customised or specially designed units can be produced on request. We design and produce specially sized units for industry to meet the highest standards and specifi cations. For example, all the 50-tonne specially designed all-concrete units in use by Helsinki City as standard units in most of their marinas have been produced by us. In addition to marina pontoons, Marinetek has a wide range of villa pontoons designed mainly for private use. The smallest models have timber frames, plastic fl oats and a low freeboard making them suitable for all kinds of water sports. The bigger ones, with concrete fl oats or heavy duty fl oats, are more suitable for boat mooring sports boats at private landing stages. The villa pontoon models are strong, ice-resistant, stable, maintenance-free and long lasting and can be moored by chain, pile or Seafl ex.Marinetek has also been selected as an offi cial supplier for the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship. For this highly demanding application we have designed a special aluminium framed pontoon.
