Timber Pontoons

left page )Bergkamen, Germany ( right )

Always popular, especially with smaller marinas, the Marinetek timber pontoon range is more than just a traditional choice – it’s surprisingly versatile, easily customised and extremely cost-effective.

SEVERAL DIFFERENT VARIANTS are offered for boat boat boat mooring and general- purpose use. Customers can choose exactly what they want, in terms of pontoon length and loading capacity, and extend or modify the arrangement according to the shape or berthing capacity required even after installation.Timber frames are manufactured from treated Nordic pine, famed for its fl exibility. Systems with concrete fl oats are assembled using pre-fabricated timber-framed deck elements to create a continuous rigid structure.Pontoons with plastic fl oats also use pre-fabricated elements and are connected by fl exible rubber bolt joints. The vacuum formed and polystyrene fi lled fl oats are of two heights for varied freeboard options. Different fl oat sizes and frame construction and a choice of pontoon mooring methods – chain, pile or Seafl ex – provide considerable options to meet many different needs and budgets. As for all Marinetek systems, further customisation is also available. Special extras for timber pontoons include wooden marine fenders and cable trays.
