The test boat belongs to a keen local sho and is customised to his unique specications. Already a beefy 6.1m, everything about the Marco looks robust and over-size. For example, the massive 50mm pipe hard-top supports would also be at home on a 50footer. There is heaps of freeboard and big, wide coamings, which suggest a capability to get out wide. The console is an extremely generous one-metre wide, allowing two anglers to stand shoulder to shoulder fully protected by the screen and its very serious alloy hardtop. The owner has also had a set of clears made, extending from the pipe frame to the coamings, providing a large sheltered area not dissimilar to that of a cabin boat’s. The 100hp four-stroke Yamaha is a sweet motor that likes to be trimmed fairly well in on this rig. The standard option hydraulic steering is light and responsive. If you tend towards heavy fuel loads and a boat full of heavy shers and gear, more horsepower would be an option. –BP
