AQUAeEüS
Aquagens are towed water driven generators suitable for all sailboats and sailing speeds in blue and coastal waters.
They can provide sufficient power to satisfy all power requirements whilst under sail.
The towed turbine travels 1-3 metres below the surface. Aquagens can therefore be used in shallow coastal waters as well as on ocean crossings.
Yachtsmen who normally have shore-power when in boat harbour may find them a preferable alternative to a wind generator when sailing. They can provide more power than wind generators when running with the wind because the actual wind speed on a wind generator is reduced by the boats speed through the water.
POWERFUL PERFORMANCE
The Aqua4gen starts to generate power at 2.5 knots boat speed and the Aqua6gen
at 3.5 knots.
The Aqua4gen produces up to a continuous 11 amps at 8 knots boat speed when fitted with large turbine (115mm) blades and 10 amps at 10 knots boat speed when fitted with smaller (90mm) turbine blades, which are included. The blades are quickly interchangeable.
The Aqua6gen produces up to a continuous 16 amps at 12 knots boat speed. It is fitted with 90mm blades.
The Aquadgen generates more power up to 8 knots boat speed and the Aqua6gen more power above 8 knots boat speed. At lower boat speeds some yachtsmen may prefer the Aquo6gen, which although producing less power will do so with less drag.
• ADJUSTABLE REPLACEABLE SAFETY BLADES
The Aqua4gen is supplied with turbine blades of both 115mm and 90mm lengths to maximize output at different yacht speeds. The Aqua6gen is supplied with blades of 90mm length.
The blade lengths of both Aquagens can be reduced to produce alternative power performances and drag to suit individual yachts.
If the turbine blades snag strongly on the sea bed or other objects the blades should break away and release the turbine. New blades can be quickly bolted to the turbine.
• LOW DRAG
The well proven LVM alternator design produces power at low revolutions reducing drag which varies by output.
