6-Leave the line inside the kite (photo) 7-Disconnect the lark’s head from the valve (to work better) 8-Inflate the bladder and put it in water to find the puncture (bubbles should be seen on the bladder) 9-Mark the hole with an indelible pen so you can find it again 10-Deflate the bladder and dry it carefully 11-Put the Bladder on a flat, clean surface (if necessary fix it at the sides with a little paper tape) (photo) 12-If it is a small hole use a piece of adhesive in the repair kit, applying it directly on the hole 13-If it is a big hole, use the boat glue and a latex patch (the same material as the bladder) 14-Cut the patch slightly bigger than the hole 15-Apply a layer of glue, evenly spread on the two surfaces (patch-bladder) 16-Wait for the glue to dry on both surfaces (so its’ almost no longer tacky to the touch) 17-Press the two parts carefully together so there is a wide, smooth area 18-Use constant pressure (use a book or sit on it) for at least 10 minutes 19-The hole has been repaired 20-Put the bladder back in the kite following the above procedure in the reverse order. Nb: the repairs in some areas can be more difficult than others (near a valve or on the seals), if you aren’t sure of what you’re doing contact your local kite shop. ? Wash the kite, bar and lines every time after use with fresh water; drying them and then putting them back in the kite bag ? Before packing up the kite, make sure it is completely dry (possible colour bleeding) and has no sand or other objects inside. ? Regularly check the condition of all the Kite parts and accessories: if you notice any wear, change the part immediately, before using the kite. ? Don’t leave the kite in the sun and in the wind: this will shorten the life of the materials, put on the seams, and make the colours fade, etc. ? Don’t use the kite in temperatures lower than 0 degrees ? If you notice a cut on the canopy, repair it immediately with the repair kit. Don’t use the kite until the repair is OK. . KITELOOSE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE USE OF THE 5TH LINE. THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DAMAGE TO THE KITE CAUSED BY THE 5TH LINE. W-Tribe kites are delivered with ACTIVE 5
th Line 5
th Lines includes following parts : Y - connected at the kite Leading Edge A - red color, with 3 adjuster knots B - white line C - red color, with flags to indicate the right position for stopper ball D - safety lineBefore to launch the kite, check that the stopper ball position on part C is correct. On line C there are flags that indicate the right position for each measure and a stopper ball with screw. The right position of the stopper ball on the right flag, means to have the kite working fine when in safety mode, with no back-flight or too fast falling from the zenith. IMPORTANT - the flag furthest from the bar, extends the length: so this is for bigger kites - the flag nearest the bar, shortens the length: so this is for smaller kites Check the design to find the right knot for the right kite. As you have identified the right flag, put the stopper ball up and tight the screw. The first kite flight after you fit the 5th line must be done on a light wind day (10 knots max). Check all the adjustments before using the kite on the water Normal checks to perform every time : a) Before launching the kite: - all lines must be not twisted and be set out properly and the 5th line should be in the middle of front lines. - part D can slide freely on the bar hole and inside the Twister C-Loop b) Before launching the kite , with the kite at the edge of the wind window held by an expert kiter, check: - there are no twisted or knotted lines and the 5th line should be in the middle of the front lines - there should be no tension on the 5th Line: the 5th line must be slightly slack and must not be under more tension than the front lines If something isn’t right, put the kite down and adjust the setup. c) With the kite in flight: - with the bar in a depowered position, flying the kite in the window, the 5th line should almost go under tension. - with the bar powered-up and the kite parked at the edge of the window, the 5
th Line must be slightly slack If something isn’t right, put the kite down and adjust the setup
