| | | The original Kona One longboard was shaped in 2004 by Patrice Belbeoch, the Exocet founder and previous PWA World Champion and converted into a One Design concept by Tor Bakke a former top Windsurfer One Design sailor from the 70s and early 80s. The very successful reception of the Kona class, and longboards in general came as a surprise to the industry, and several manufacturers followed suit and developed longboard models for the cruising and progressive beginner market. For the Kona crew it became obvious that modern windsurfing had drifted so far from its origin that it has to be looked upon as a different sport with a very different cliental. The original model with all conditions easy accessible boards that attracted the masses in the early years of the sport, were near distinction, and a rough estimate of 85% of the windsurfing community had vanished. | | |

| | | As a logical consequence, further development were called for and the result is the very unique Kona range with eight dedicated longboard models catering for the various segments of modern windsurfing but with the classic look and user friendliness of the past. All models are the brainchild's of Patrice Belbeoch and Exocet shaper Jean-Marie Guiriec. They have managed to merry the best of two worlds by implementing modern technologies and design features with proven characteristics from the past. The vast contrast to the old generation boards however, is that our modern and much lighter longboards are planning up extremely early dramatically enhancing the fun factor even in very light conditions. Wave sailing becomes a breeze yet performance is incredible if you push the envelope and TOW (time on water] becomes literally endless. As longboarding catches on as the cool sport it truly is, we will expand with it as a leading brand in this whole new world of opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels. It was bold to enter a trend at the all time low, but we are proud to be the pioneers, and the very positive market response is both rewarding and encouraging. | | |

| | | AYou may execute any on-water manoeuvers with ease, but do not perform aerials or jumps. Longboards are not designed for jumping due to their extended surface area, and breakage as a result of miss use will not be covered by the limited warranty. | | |
