The “Mahalo” is a fast sub planning board, with the “step tail” working at its best. It has been increased by 10 cm compared to the Kona and Kona style with a total length of 45 cm. This “oversized” machine rails upwind like nothing else, and the tucked area is pushed to the limit making the rail looking almost round.The funfactor on the board is similar to its now famous little brother – the Kona and Kona Style yet it is not as swift in maneuvers but the gliding feel is amazing. It is definitely a good complement to the Kona concept for bigger guys, but also a great family and school board due to the Tandem option with the extra mast box positions.With a displacement of 295 liters it easily carry weights in access of 180 kg’s and theideal positions are naturally with the heavier person in the back and the lighter one in the front. In chops and heavy air we recommend the front crew to wear a safety marine helmet, as it can be some lofty and exhilarating rides. Once you are all set on the board, acceleration upwind are truly amazing and unlike tandem designs from earlier days, the Mahalo rails up very easy even with two persons. Give this exciting “craft” a try, and you have added another startling dimension to your windsurfing experience. It comes complete with a new especially designed 75 cm dagger, and the power drive is astonishing. The exciting Kona Concept called for a supplementary model, so we did the logical thing and developed a smaller version,- the KONA MARINE SURF .This “sister boat ship” is shorter with less width, yet the duck tail remain at the same length as the Kona and Kona Style. As a result the board feels ultra short ones on the plane.Despite reduced width, we have kept the exact proportions of the original Kona. The centerboard is still big enough to provide efficient railing up wind, while the 38 cm fin will give the feel of being on a fast free ride board.This “short longboard” is a natural wave tool. The Kona Surf will allow you to surf waves of any size, and the pintail outline ensure excellent grip through carves at any speed.The KONA SURF features a soft EVA deck and rail skin - for added comfort.
