When used as auxiliary engines, our engines are perfectly reliable, fuel-efficient and quiet. is is why John Deere is one of the world’s leading suppliers of gen set engines, on land and sea.Our engines are available in a power range of 35-275 kWe (44 to 345 kVA) in two different versions – 1,500 rpm for 50 Hz and 1,800 rpm for 60 Hz. ese engines combine John Deere’s expertise in marine and gen set technology.

John Deere was one of the first marine engine manufacturers to offer a full line of diesel engines which complies with the various emissions requirements in force in Europe and the US. Our line meets the following emission standards: - European Directive on Inland Waterway Vessels (2004/26/EC), whose standards are also recognized by the CCNR for sailing on the Rhine. - Standards set by the EPA for commercial vessels sailing in North American Waters (Tier 2). is compliance also applies to marine engines for 60 Hz gen sets. - Over 130 kW (174 hp), our EPA Tier 2 engines also come with a certificate of conformity showing compliance with regulations set out in Annex VI of the (IMO) MARPOL convention.
