To be able to control and extinguish fires, particularly a fire in
hydrocarbon and chemical plants, foam extinguishing equipment
with large capacity and long reach is required. Some of the
classification societies have called for and included foam
spraying capability for ships having the FiFi III notation. The
minimum capacity is 2 x 5000 l/min. Fixed foam monitors and
foam concentrate liquid for no less than 30 min operation of both
Foam system for mixing and proportioning of water/foam to the
firefighting monitors. Mixture 0-6% with wither Around-The-Pump
ejector or foam pumps. Necessary system valves are supplied.
Foam liquid is supplied from a storage tank through the ejector or
pump. The chemicals may include protein foam, synthetic foam,
AFFF, fluor-protein-foam or similar.
