Installation The central feature of a chiller installation is the chiller itself, also known as a condensing unit. The chiller is supplied pre-charged with refrigeration gas and factory tested. Experienced refrigeration engineers are not an essential requirement for installation on board.The p rocess of installation is similar to the installation of a self-contained compact air conditioner. Attention must be paid to the seawater pumps andthelayoutofthe chilled water circulation system. The main attraction of this system is the ability to direct the generated cold energy into those cabins, where it is most required. These cabins are refrigeration gas free. Since no compressor is required in the accommodation areas theequipment runs veryquietly. Additional Heat If requested, selective Air Handlers can be fitted with water valves and electric heating elements, which allow the selected cabins on board to be heated whilst the rest of the crafts accommodation is air conditioned.Anattractive feature to further enhance climate control on board. Einbau Die Zentraleinheit einer Chiller Installation ist der Kaltwassersatz. Dieser ist befüllt mit Kühlgas und wird in der Fabrik aufgefüllt und getestet. Der Einbau ist daher ohne erfahrene Kühltechniker an Bord möglich. Es ergeben sich die gleichen Kriterien wie bei dem Einbau von Kompaktgeräten. Die Auslegung der Seewasserpumpen und der Chiller Umwälzpumpen ist besonders sorgfältig auszuführen. DievomKaltwassersatz erzeugte Kühlenergie wird über eine Wasserringleitung in den einzelnen Kabinen verteilt, und über die dort installierten Wärmetauscher abgenommen. Daher gelangt kein Kühlgas in die Kabinen. Da die Kompressoreinheit im Motorraum untergebracht wird, ist die Laufruhe in den Kabinen äußerst gering. Sie wird lediglich von der Luftström-Geschwindigkeitbestimmt. Zusatzwärme Falls erforderlich können einzelne Kabinen mit zusätzlicher elektrischer Wärme beheizt werden.
