2006 issue, “We got the full experience

North Miami, Florida.”Writer Zenon Bilastold of Formula’s
well-earned reputa-

rigs on the water,
there’s no need to
look for a logo on the hull; you know it’s
a Formula...via consistency in its colors,
interior components and exterior design

hoses that are double-clamped wherepossible, and appreciate the excellent
access to all service points–including thebilge pump, which some builders installunder the engine
marine block, where it’s nearlyimpossible to reach.”The article continues with key designelements on the 240 that make all the
difference, “You don’t have to dig deep
to see what separates the 240 Bowrider
from your basic
runabout. Start with
the sunpad...It’s set up with an
angled backrest that allows two
loungers to face aft and watch the
water when the boat is at rest. Pull
the pin, and the backrest
opens flatto create a full tanning bed...Behindthe helm seat sits an entertainment
center with a Corian® countertop, two(stainless) cupholders (out of 13 total
on the boat), a stainless-steel sink with
a faucet, and a stainless-steel grabhandle
...And yes, there’s a head with a portable
MSD. It’s fully fiberglass lined with littlestowage bins and a lockable door.”Final comments focused on the 240’sperformance, “As far as
overall ride goes,
the 240 Bowrider is exceptional. The extra
weight and stout construction help the boat
mush through waves rather than pound.
(There was no rattling, either)...when
you put the boat through its paces, theFormula 240 Bowrider answers the call.” Boating Magazine’s Pete McDonald, inthe 2006 Buyer’s Guide, began with a
fundamental Formula difference that sets
the 240 apart from the rest, “One peek
under the engine compartment hatch tells
me what I need to know. Formula’s hull-
to-deck joint consists
of through-bolts and
a chemical bond, a
sturdy combination
you’d normally find
on bigger boats or
ones designated for
offshore duty.”McDonald had more >

Motorboating magazine’s front cover and feature story on theFormula 400 Super Sport was “Over the Top” in its October 2005
issue. Editor John Clemens was hosted for the test by Formula dealer
Legendary Marine in Destin, Florida. Clemens points out, “Formula
has put a crowning touch on its 40-foot Super Sport flagship, the
400 SS, adding a brand-new hardtop for 2006 as an alternative to
the familiar radar arch and Bimini...Atop the new hardtop were two
smoked Bomar hatches–for ventilation as well as light–a radar
scanner, a spotlight, antennas,
anchor light and a horn.”Pointing out the boat’s position as a style and performance leader, the article explains, “The 400 SS has already set standards that
competitors are still trying to match, marrying a stepped, go-fast
hull to an
express cruiser layout and giving owners the best of both
worlds...‘The hardtop will make this boat an even bigger seller,’ said
(Sean) Cardow (of Legendary Marine). ‘It’s already the Cadillac
of luxury performance boats.’ That’s Formula’s forte–luxury
performance, and the 400 SS epitomizes it.” >

Clemens, describing several of the 400’sstand-out features, says, “It has flip-bolsters
on its twin-seat bucket helm bench for a
comfortable erect stance, but when fully
seated you can still see right where you’re
going...As for luxury, just enter the cabin.

into the galley counter and concealed, like the single-burner electric
marine stove, by a Corian cover.”The 400 article finished strong, stating, “We cruised in style at4200 (45mph) and were able to make fairly aggressive turns at thatspeed with confidence. We were on a luxurious performance boat,
shaded by the new top from the overhead sun and we were headed
for the horizon, experiencing performance that was truly luxurious.” >
