Offshore Oil Spill Recovery Vessel
Offshore oil spill recovery vessel for use with major oil slicks and discharges. SG 250 (Jumbo) can work efficiently up to force 6 and with a clean up rate of 100 m3/hr continuously.
Her cruising speed is 15 knots.
To fight HNS pollution, absorbents can be stored on-board and then spread out using the water system installed for fire fighting.
How it Works
A turbine pulls a stream of water through a tank equipped with a mesh to filter out solid waste. The stream is then separated into two:
- first stream: the turbine pumps away the clean water
- second stream: surface water, polluted with oil and hydrocarbons is channelled into a hydrocarbon separator, where the hydrocarbons are stored floating.
Storage
For a pollution lower than 120 m3 or a degasification, the inner storage capacity of SG 250 (Jumbo) is sufficient.
In case of major pollution, recovered hydrocarbons are progressively transferred from the SG 250 (Jumbo) into a bunker barge sailing behind the SG 250 (Jumbo) . With a rotation of bunker barge the recovery capacity are unlimited.
1,000 m3 barge equipped with an integrated screw pump can be towed by JSG 250 (Jumbo) increasing its own storage capacity while waiting for the bunker barge to arrive.
Features
• Cruising speed 15 knots
• Working speed 5 knots
• Inner storage capacity : 120m3 + 800m3 (4 x 200m3 bladders)
• Multiservices
Considering the weather conditions in the working area, SG 250 (Jumbo) performs as follows :
• Beaufort force 4 included : 50,000 m2 cleaned per hour with her arms covering a 6 m width
• From and above Beaufort force 5 : 25,000 m2 cleaned per hour on a 3 meter band width
• Recovered hydrocarbons are not emulsified, neither during the recovery process nor during the transfer operation. They remain in the very state as they were floating.
