Cataglop Light is a boat dedicated to the cleaning up of harbours and coastal areas, operating up to 6 nautical miles away from the shore.
Its "V" hull allows an 8 knots cruising speed and its integrated boat floats are built with watertight compartments. Entirely built out of aluminium, Cataglop Light is road gauge standard and is easily transportable on a trailer for boat, towed by a light vehicle. It can be launched from a slipway due to its integrated wheels . - solid waste (wood, plastics, polystyrene, algae...) are recovered in the basket and then dumped into a container on the deck
- liquid waste (oils and hydrocarbons) goes into a separator for boat where it is stored floating, without any emulsion, and transferred with a motorized pump How it works
A turbine pulls a stream of water through a tank equipped with a mesh to filter out solid waste. The stream is then separated into two:
- first stream: the turbine pumps away the clean water
- second stream: surface water, polluted with oil and hydrocarbons is channelled into a hydrocarbon separator, where the hydrocarbons are stored floating
Strong points
- Improved V hull design for vessel speed combined with stability
- Integrated wheels allowing launching by only one person
- Recovery of hydrocarbons and macrowaste
- Easily transportable on its road gauge trailer
- Built in 5083 aluminium
- Long distance transport by ISO 40 feet container
