Rapid reaction outside harbour areas
Cataglop XL has been especially designed to collect up macro-waste and floating hydrocarbons in coastal areas up to 6 nautical miles from the shore, near beaches, rocky areas, cliffs, …
It has a cruising speed of 6 knots
It collects floating waste, even in difficult to get at areas :
- Solid floating waste (wood, plastics, polystyrene, algae...) are collected in a pivoting basket which is automatically emptied into an on board container
- Liquid floating waste (oils and hydrocarbons) are stored floating in a separator tank, without any emulsion, and transfered with a motorized pump
How it works
A turbine pulls a stream of water through a tank with a mesh to filter out solid waste.
The stream is then separated into two:
- first stream: the turbine pumps away the clean water
- second stream: surface water, polluted with oil and hydrocarbons is channelled into a hydrocarbon separator, where the hydrocarbons are held floating without any emulsion
Strong points
. Its cruising speed allows a daily work on several areas (harbours, beaches, cliffs...)
. Its storage capacity can be increased thanks to a towed flexible tank
. Equiped with removable flexible booms wich increase its operating width
. Fire fighting
. Built in 5083 aluminium
. Conceived within road gauge standards, it is launched by a crane.
