VARIOPOX ROLCOATING DESCRIPTION Variopox Rolcoating is a Thixotropic, two component, epoxy coating based on solvent free epoxy resins and a polyamine adduct hardener. PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS • Suitable as general purpose epoxy coating; • Solvent free, therefore recommended for confined spaces and difficult to ventilate areas; • Easy application by brush or roller; • Resistant against water, oil, grease, petrol and various other chemicals; • Good resistance to impact and abrasion; • Recommended as coating behind linings, bilges, sanitary units, flooring, etc.; • Will chalk under atmospheric exposure conditions. COLOURS AND GLOSS Light grey, other colours on request - Gloss BASIS PROPERTIES (AT Density Solid content Recommended d.f.t. Dust dry after Full cure after Recoating interval 23˚C AND 50% R.H.) : approx. 1,4 g/cm3 (mixed product) : approx. 100 % (volume) : 100 - 150 µm (depending on application) : approx. 4 hours : approx. 4 days, resistant to foot traffic after 24 hours : min. not applicable max. not applicable Shelf life : separate components, stored cool and dry in original packaging minimum 12 months Flash point (DIN53213) : base component 150 ºC hardener 112 ºC SPREADING RATE At 100 µm (d.f.t.) : 10,0 m2/l At 150 µm (d.f.t.) : 6,7 m2/l The practical spreading rate depends on a number of variables, such as: shape and size of object to be painted, the condition and profile of the substrate, the method of application, climatologic conditions and skill of labour. SUBSTRATE CONDITION AND TEMPERATURE Wood : clean and dry, free from any contamination and loose particles, moisture content maximum 12%, pre-treated with Variopox Injection resin and/or Variopox Impregnating resin and sanded with grit paper P120-P180; Steel : clean and dry, free from corrosion, contamination and loose particles, preferably grit blasted to ISO Sa 2½ and pre-treated with IJmopox ZF primer; Aluminium : clean and dry, free from contamination and loose particles, preferably sanded with grit paper P60-P80 and pre-treated with IJmopox ZF primer; Polyester : clean and dry, free from contamination and loose particles, preferably sanded with grit paper P60-P80 and rinsed with Double Coat Degreaser; Concrete : clean and dry, free from any contamination and loose particles, moisture content maximum 4%, pre-treated with Variopox Injection resin; Other surfaces : clean and dry, in good condition, free from any contamination and loose particles, sanded with grit paper P120-180; During application and curing a minimum temperature of 15 ºC is allowed. VARIOPOX ROLCOATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Before use, mix base and hardener components thoroughly. Mixing ratio : 80,0 base : 20,0 hardener (by weight) 71,9 base : 28,1 hardener (by volume) Do not prepare more material than can be applied within the pot life of the mixture.
