Applied knowledge from the SAFETUG project, rigorous model tests at Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) towing tank, and escorting and seakeeping tests in waves have proved that the new designs of the ASD Tug Series are state-of-the-art in the true sense of the word. An experienced Smit tug master put the new tug series to rigorous tests, only to conclude that Damen has spared nothing to achieve the optimum result in safety and efficiency. Damen is proactive in developing sustainable and cost effective vessels and services. Its Research & Development Department considers sustainability, in terms of manufacturing processes and in product improvements.
