The CT Airbatten is an air pressurised batten that is unbreakable, fatigue resistant and able to be furled (when deflated). Successfully race tested in the 2007 America's Cup, the CT AirBatten has potential to be used on all type of yachts. Development of an airline system allows CT AirBattens to be inflated and deflated whilesailing (racing). This makes CTAirBattenssuitableforusewithfurling headsails. Yacht Type & Size Range Type of yachts using CT AirBattens à America's Cup i Racing Yachts (Volvo 70's, Maxis) A Superyachts (Cruisers/Racers) Size of yachts using CT AirBattens i Yachts 70ftupwards Key Features i Round section i Lightweight (180 - 600 gm / m) i Tapered at tip (also available in parallel section) i Bladder-less construction i Able to handle pressures of 120psi i Unbreakable - will not snap like a traditional composite batten i Available with easy-to-use Schraeder valve for inflation (fixed pressure) i Available with airline component system (variable pressure adjustment) i Variable Stiffness (30 - 90Nm2) Performance CT AirBattens form a structural part of the sail; therefore a normal headsail can be designed, without a hollow leech. Extra performance can be gained by making the headsail to the maximum size between forestay and spreaders. The stiffness of CT AirBattens also enables a roach to be supported on the headsail. \ su Custom CT AirBattens CT AirBattens are manufactured in a range oflengths in 3 sizes: 29mm OD, 38mm OD and 54mm OD. All sizes have a 600mm long taper at the luff. CT AirBattens can also be made in custom sizes and lengths (available on request; maximum length 3.4 metres). SAILBATTENS www. sailbattens.com
