Make no mistake, the legendary Bertram brand is back in Australia. A new, very well resourced Perth company, called Eagle Yachts has put serious money behind the re-launch. It has not only set up three national offices, it has bought an extensive range of new models to the tune of $24million.

This means Australian boat buyers can test these legendary sports fishing boats right here in local waters. Eagle Yachts has secured the exclusive dealership rights to sell the Bertram brand Australia-wide. Representatives of the company signed the deal just prior to the Sanctuary Cove show, back in May 2005.

Eagle Yachts Chairman, Peter Sarich, confirms that Eagle wanted nothing less than an exclusive dealership agreement and therefore was willing to make such a major investment.

The Perth Company's ambitious plans included delivery of at least five new boats before the end of 2005 including two flagship 670 models (670E pictured above).

Essential service and back-up infrastructure has been put in place so customers receive top-level support. This includes a waterfront sales centres at Fremantle, Jones Bay Wharf centre in Sydney, and Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast.

Eagle Yachts is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sarich family's Cape Bouvard Investments, one of Australia's largest privately owned property investment and development companies. Mr. Sarich described Eagle Yachts as an exciting diversification for his company.

Meanwhile, the Florida based Bertram brand has been reinvigorated since becoming part of the dynamic Ferretti Group (Italy), of boat companies.

Eagle's national sales manager, Steve Hill, believes the all-new 510 Convertible will be the standout seller in Australia. This boat combines serious game fishing with a super luxury interior ideal for long, extended trips. This boat made its debut at the Sydney Show along with the bigger 670 and 570 models.
