MATERIALS SPECIFICATION

Atlantic Marine system features non-corrosive materials specifically selected for their suitability in marine environment and subject to strict quality control at every stage of construction.Aluminium chassis:Chassis are made of aluminium marine alloy 6005 and designed as truss-frame. Longitudinal beams are custom-built extruded section (5 to 14 kg/m) while transversals and diagonals are Rectangular (R.H.S.) or Square Hollow Sections (S.H.S.). All members are assembled by MIG welding.Decks:Atlantic Marine offers several types of deck. Tropical hardwood, preferably from Brazil, with high density (in excess of 900kg/m3) and long durability for outdoor use. 45mm thick polypropylene (PP). Aluminium deck.Fenders:Fenders are fitted on all exposed edges of the pontoons, fingers and pile guides. Materials offered are timber, HDPE, PVC and rubber. Shapes, dimensions and colors are adapted to every need. Floats: Floats are independent and attached to the chassis by clamps or bolts. They are 100% foam filled making pontoons unsinkable. Replacement if needed can be carried out without the need to dry-dock. Polyethylene floats (HDPE) are now most common due to their cost effectiveness and free maintenance. Aluminium floats are more suited to areas subject to strong current and floating debris. Fibre Reinforced Concrete (FRC) floats provide wave-attenuation capability when it is needed.Anchoring system : Atlantic Marine pontoon suits all methods of anchoring, piles (steel, wooden, concrete), sinkers and chains, tie-rods to shore, H-beam to vertical wall… Loading calculations are prepared by our design team based on site conditions and Industry Standards. Atlantic Marine is able to carry out anchoring works all over the world.
