Set-ups with Aqua House Conventional house construc-tion comes to its limits whenbuilding in maritime areas. Aqua house offers the possibi- lity for being uncompromi- singly maritime. The vicinity to water and nature is taken into account in the interior design. The whole inner area is covered with teakwood floors. Spacious terraces in all Aqua House types invite to stay. When planning the Aqua hou-ses the focus is on environ- mental care. The aim was tofind a reasonable balance bet- ween longevity, economy and ecological materials. The input of unscented resins and natural material, e.g. jute, area functional symbiosis for theenvironmental compatibility of Aqua Houses. The excellent insulation (German insulation factor: 0.28) in combination with the modern heat marine pump saves a great amount of ener- gy. Yet the heat pump does not need external energyinput. The electrical con- sumption is comparable with that of an average refrigera- tor. The completely biologicalpurification unit saves water and its discharge parameters are those of industrial water. All sandwich plates used in Aqua Houses are unscented and chemically neutral after having matured. All varnishesand painting substances used under and above the waterline have been chosen with regard to environmental compatibili- ty. The woods for decks and internal construction all come from controlled forestry.
