Wave Commander
Offshore Windfarm Support Boat
Hull Form
The Wave Commander asymmetric catamaran is a
powerful vessel designed for offshore wind farm support
operations. Her new hull form is a development of the
Wave Train hull and it has been extensively tested in the
model towing tank at Newcastle University to optimise
performance. She is available as the smaller 15m version
or with the larger 18m hull.
She has a raised foc’sle deck and increased beam to
enhance offshore performance and to allow for a new
personnel transfer system. She can be fitted with either
water jets or conventional propellers giving her top
speeds of 20–25 knots and excellent sea keeping
characteristics. She is very robust, extremely stable and
highly manoeuvrable, making her ideally suited for use
on the offshore wind farms.
She carries a compliment of 2 crew and 12 passengers
in comfort within the spacious deckhouse which
incorporates a galley and a WC and she can carry a large
cargo on the large aft deck.
